Independence

Editorial decisions are made independently from our affiliate and advertising relationships. A brand cannot pay to receive a better review or a higher ranking. We have removed products from top picks lists when we found better alternatives, even when it reduced affiliate revenue.

Testing Standards

We use a consistent testing framework for all cooling products:

• +Minimum 4-week real-world test with a live dog in a real household
• +Temperature measurements taken every 30 minutes for the first 8 hours
• +Washability test: 12 wash cycles, checked for shrinkage and material breakdown
• +Durability observation: daily use for the test period
• +Size accuracy check versus manufacturer claims

Corrections

If we make an error, we correct it promptly and note the correction at the bottom of the relevant page. We update product data (prices, availability) at least quarterly.

Reviewer Qualifications

Our reviewers are dog owners with direct experience with the products they review. Medical claims are reviewed by a licensed veterinarian before publication. See our author pages for individual reviewer bios.
